m3architecture

m3architecture are a highly innovative practice creating some of Australia’s most adventurous and purposeful architecture.

Dynamic flux, multitudinous adaptability, critical reframing: a new identity introduces a dynamic visual system, combined with a radical new way of documenting and interpreting architecture.

The logo mark is a monogram based on the most minimal intervention to the most primitive of forms. A template for endless expressive versions. The m3 monogram has been created as a generative animation, available via an online app that allows full control over the characters' parameters.

Instead of relying solely on photography for documentation, Inkahoots proposed m3architecture collaborate with Australia's leading artists in a variety of mediums to interpret the buildings.

What if a building was imagined as contemporary art, or a short story, or a video game, or a song?

Documenting and disseminating architecture with photography is a method that is already idealised, is already a fiction, even as it presents as objective and definitive. However, this convention often can’t represent many of the building’s critical spatial, temporal, emotional, cultural, or conceptual qualities. Often it can't represent the 'spirit' of the building.

The first series of 'Translations' are: a moving image work by Daniel Crooks; a poem by Jazz Money; a text mural by Vernon Ah Khee; and a sound work by composer David Banney.
