1000 Books Before Five is an independent bookseller led, early literacy initiative, focusing on the life-long benefits of reading to children from an early age.

This is a long-term reading campaign to create a more literate society, which in turn will have positive outcomes for Australian communities and booksellers over generations. In Queensland alone, we know approximately 36% of parents of 0–2-year-olds, and 52% of parents of 3–8-year-olds do not regularly read to their children.
The campaign encourages and incentivises parental support for childhood reading. The celebratory visual identity is a mix of simple modular shapes and children's handwriting.
