What is Different?MUSEUM OF BRISBANE / GoCA

What is Different was an exhibition at the Museum of Brisbane in collaboration with GoCA. It presented Queensland children’s creative responses to the 2020 pandemic lockdown period.

Inkahoots’ design for the exhibition included a title wall that integrated live drawings by visiting children. A custom drawing app invited immediate participation with direct and intuitive engagement suitable for all ages, including pre-literate children.

The show presents children's perspective on our collective experience. When schools closed during the lockdown life became very different for everyone, especially for young people. Children were at home more than usual, routines were different, playdates were cancelled and lessons moved from the classroom to the home. As the coronavirus pandemic began to unfold, the Gallery of Children’s Art (GoCA) asked children across the state: “what is different?”. From kindergartens to primary schools, this question prompted students to reflect and respond to their changing global, local and personal situations through art
