Inkahoots is part of new exhibition by ARI Remix and Redland Gallery; a celebration of the spirited activity, colourful characters, unruly history, and creative significance of Headlands Chalet — 1989-2015. North Stradbroke Island's/ Minjerribah’s “Headlands” was an oasis for culturally diverse people, arts communities, artist-run initiatives [ARIs], and queered arts collectives.

Built in 1935, the Headlands Chalet was a modest 13 cabin communal complex, located at Mooloomba Drive, Point Lookout, on the world's second largest sand island. From humble beginnings, it evolved to become a popular and affordable getaway retreat and studio space for artists.

Marshall Malouf [1952- 2015], host, community facilitator and erstwhile artist transformed this hillside artists’ retreat overlooking the Pacific Ocean into a living artwork during his 26-year custodianship.

Inkahoots has also created the show's catalogue – a folded A2 format poster/zine, with display typography compiled from vintage hand-painted signage found on site – available while copies last at the exhibition.

Special thanks to Paul Andrew of ARI Remix and Cassandra Lehman at Redland Art Gallery.
