How many kids does it take to make a font? Hundreds!
The Great and Grand Rumpus (GRUMPUS) is a State Library of Queensland community engagement project that culminates in an exhibition of imaginative sculptural, digital and immersive installations in SLQ Gallery.
As part of the project's visual identity development, Inkahoots, along with White Light Education, staff from SLQ, and staff and students from the so-new-it's-still-under-construction Brisbane South State Secondary College had our first participatory design typography workshop.
Working with primary and secondary schools around Brisbane, students are contributing towards an open source typeface that will become part of the new visual identity.
Huge thanks to Christian Duel from WhiteLight Education, Adam Jeffords, Helen Sartori and Daniel Flood from SLQ, and Renee Place and staff from BSSSC.
