Creative Research Centre for Arts and Entertainment Futures is a national research project developing innovation in Australia’s performing arts industries.
The visual system is an early (2009) experiment with generative, dynamic identity, upending conventional identity methodology before this approach became familiar. Rather than animating a static logo for online applications etc, endless static logos are captured from a random moving image.
The identity is a literal graphic performance – a dancing animation programmed to continually change shape and colour. Still grabs capture moments in time (analogous to photographing a live performance) that become an endless source of unique logos.
